THE CHALLENGE
A banking client decided to strategically focus on developing talent internally through a new initiative, the Private Banking University. What was needed: for Actio to partner with key leaders and subject matter experts to define all aspects of the learning strategy and training and development program, including governance, key processes, course libraries, build/buy decisions, and alignment to HR goals and business needs.
THE Solution
Actio utilized a blended learning strategy which consisted of instructor-led, eLearning, on-the-job training, coaching, and informal learning. We created eight development maps (for Credit Analysts, Underwriters, Regional Credit Managers, Loan Team Managers, Private Bankers, Retail Private Bankers, and Regional Private Banking Managers) to promote consistent, high-quality training experiences based on employee roles. We also assessed existing training and curated select courses for each role.
Development for each role was organized into stages, tightly aligned to level guides developed and maintained by HR. Training specifically targeted common and sharable knowledge and skill requirements across roles through creating shared courses or content. Training was infused with high-impact, high-value authentic practice and performance assessments such as skill observations.
